Vibe Coding: The Code That Redefines Productivity
For the past few months, a new concept has been stirring up the world of app development: vibe coding.
Behind this somewhat abstract name lies a powerful idea: What if productivity was no longer a matter of resources or technical knowledge?
According to Fortune (March 2025), some startups attribute their hypergrowth not to their budget or headcount, but to a specific work method:
“Vibe coding allows 10 engineers to produce what 100 would elsewhere.”
— Sundari Rao, CEO of Artemis AI
But beware: vibe coding is not a miracle method. It’s a powerful approach… provided you understand when and how to use it.
But what does that actually mean in practice?
Here are a few platforms to help you get started — or go further — with vibe coding:
Base 44 or Replit to easily test ideas, even with little to no coding experience
Lovable to structure interactive prototypes at an intermediate level
Claude Code to take it a step further, generate clean code, and lay the foundations for a proper architecture
But what exactly is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is an approach to programming assisted by artificial intelligence (AI), where you describe an idea or problem in natural language to a large language model (LLM). The AI then generates the corresponding code, transforming the programmer’s role into that of a guide, tester, and refiner of the produced code.
You start with a vision, an intention, an idea. Then you “code” this idea without getting caught up in the ‘mechanics’ of computer. This way, you can let your imagination run free and let the LLM translate everything into actions, prototypes—whether it’s a product concept, a website, a brilliant game idea… You test, tweak, move quickly, and see what happens in a short time. You can iterate on an idea without spending precious resources. This makes it possible to see if an idea is viable ‘for real’ quickly and economically.
It’s useful when you want to give shape to an intuition, explore a new direction, or lay down a rough foundation before moving on to structuring.
“Vibe coding is the stage where you dare to create without rigidity, without fixed architecture, and without being limited by your resources—time and money. You connect to a vision, to an internal rhythm. You code the way you breathe an idea.”
— Forbes Tech, March 2025
Warning: vibe coding is not meant for production
As powerful as it is, vibe coding should never be used as-is to launch a real product or system.
Why? Because this approach is based on instinct, rapid testing, and a still-blurry vision. The machine can also ‘hallucinate,’ misunderstand your intent or goal, and especially misinterpret the context in which the application will be deployed. It’s not stable, secure, or well-thought-out enough for operational use.
In short:
- What vibe coding creates = a rough first version, full of ideas, but fragile
- What you need to do next = revisit, clarify, structure, and secure before launching
As Sundari Rao, CEO of Artemis AI, explains in a Fortune article:
“Vibe coding is perfect for generating concepts. But the mistake is thinking you can keep it as-is for launch. Before going to production, you need to understand what you’ve done, test it, and recode it properly.”
Why does this matter to us?
Because SMEs don’t have the luxury of overstaffing or constant improvisation.
They need to focus on what matters, without wasting human or technological energy.
And this is exactly where vibe coding becomes relevant.
It’s not a startup luxury.
It’s a framework that allows an SME to realign: between its tools, its talent, and its ambitions.
